How limited is an international student to work in Canada while in college?

I am a prospective student at York University in Toronto, and I am in the midst of applying. I'm asking because I work at a Walmart here in the states, and I know there is a Walmart in Toronto. For job security, would I be able to transfer and work at a Walmart in Canada, as a student, since I am already part of the company? I'll need money since I'm going to be living in an apartment and not on campus.
