How/ where would I go about teaching in California with a New York State teacher certification?

I could use some information on where would be a great place to try and find a teaching job in California. A suburban area would be perfect- maybe near the water. What issues would a NY State certified teacher face when trying to find a job in California- anyone know starting salaries for a new teacher with master's degree? Thanks!
