China Dinnerware "Service for"?

I'm looking in to buying some new China Dinnerware. The thing is I'm not sure on the right "service for" number. I have a rather large family both on my side and with my in-laws. I want to get the right number so that when I have everyone over for the holidays we don’t run out. Can anyone help?
