How should i charge my customers?

im planning on doing some auto mechanic work on the side to make some extra cash. how should i charge customers though? by the job? or by the hour? if so , what is a fair price. i specialize in brakes and exhaust systems. i am ase certified. i work in the parts department of a dealer.
